The primary role of the Financial Analyst is 1) revenue and accounts receivable; 2) detailed analytical reviews; 3) the co-ordination of insurance; 4) co-ordination of funder budgets and financial reports; 5) assisting with quarterly budget projections and annual budget preparation; 6) other Finance administrative functions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors revenue transactions in on-line bank accounts
- Ensures that all rent and non-rent Association deposits are entered into the accounting and receivables system, including all direct deposits Raisers Edge, CampBrain, Crowdchange, Blackbaud, Canada Helps, Benevity, Stripe and credit card deposits
- Reconciles credit card accounts on a monthly basis in co-ordination with the monthly CIBC bank reconciliation
- Reconcile CIBC operating, CIBC Camp, CIBC Bergamot bank statements, CampBrain, credit card deposits and account receivables on a monthly basis
- Co-ordinates annual Association-wide property tax rebate submission
- Assists the Senior Manager of Finance and Director of Finance and Information Technology in Association-wide budget preparation and quarterly forecasts and helps to ensure that budget information is entered correctly in the accounting system
- Assists with year-end closing, the preparation of annual audit working papers and interacts with auditors
- Acts as the first point of contact for Association-wide insurance claims. Co-ordinates insurance claim information together with the annual insurance review and ensures that the program staff are kept up-to-date on all changes to the insurance policies; ensures that insurance certificates are maintained and distributed
QUALIFICATIONS
- In-depth knowledge of an academic discipline normally acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree (e.g. Accounting or Business Administration) or a Level 3 CGA enrolment (Cases for Equivalency will be considered);
- Three to five years directly related work experience
- Knowledge of the social service sector and awareness of women’s issues
- Knowledge of culturally diverse communities
- Superior and proven organizational and administrative skills, including an ability to work to deadlines
- Superior and proven accuracy to detail required
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to changing priorities
- Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds
- Must possess a positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to think strategically, plan ahead and anticipate needs and issues
- Demonstrated good judgment and interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer competency in word processing, Excel spreadsheets and accounting software (GP Dynamics and Management Reporter preferred)
- Experience working with volunteers or committees
- Uses good judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information
