Salary: $62,093 annually (C7), plus comprehensive benefits

The People and Culture Partner (PCP) is responsible for providing strategic and operational human resources consultation and support to managers and employees within assigned client groups.
The People and Culture Partner serves as a trusted advisor to managers across all HR functional areas, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
The position also assists in identifying workforce risks, trends and opportunities, and collaborates with managers to develop proactive strategies and solutions that support operational effectiveness and organizational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guides hiring managers on the application of recruitment policies and procedures, relevant laws and regulations and the interpretation of hiring provisions in the Collective Agreement
- Supports workforce planning, and talent management initiatives, including employee development, succession planning and retention strategies
- Supports managers regarding compensation-related matters in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
- Administers WSIB and LTD claims, including claim filing, documentation, and ongoing case management
- Provides ongoing support for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including diagnosing and resolving system issues, responding to user inquiries, conducting system testing, and ensuring accurate and efficient HR data management
- Provides support to managers and employees on the interpretation and administration of the Collective Agreement
- Provides guidance and support to managers on performance management, progressive discipline, workplace conflict, corrective action and employee relations matters
- Partners with managers to identify workforce needs, succession risks and operational people challenges
- Participates in the review, development and improvement of HR procedures and processes
- Supports workforce forecasting, staffing analysis and departmental planning activities, as required
- Providing subject matter expertise, guidance, and support within the assigned portfolio
- In-depth knowledge of an academic discipline normally acquired through completion of an Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management/ Business Administration

- Working knowledge of employment legislation required e.g. ESA, OLRA, AODA, Occupational Health and Safety
- Experience working within a unionized environment
- Experience supervising staff
- Must possess excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge in Word and Excel
- Knowledge and experience working with a HRIS (ADP Workforce Now an asset)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must exercise good judgement in handling confidential information
- Ability to work with a range of people within a diverse environment
- Demonstrates awareness of issues affecting women and girls
